With just four weeks to go until the fourth annual Bello Winter Music, tickets are selling fast and once again, it’s shaping up to host a diverse crowd of all ages. Festival organisers are gearing up for yet another action packed event for young, old and in between.
“One of my favourite things about Bello Winter Music is that it appeals to people of all ages and from all walks of life. It makes for a really diverse and interesting event,” said festival GM, Maggie Quirk.
2018 will see the return of the New Orleans Style Street Parade on Sunday morning which was initiated for the first time last year. The parade is proudly supported by Kombu wholefoods who will also host a brand new Kombu Stage out the front of the store this year. There will again be street performance and workshops aplenty for those who want to step out of the music for a moment and enjoy a different side of the festival.
The festival marketplace will be host to another incredible mix of street food and interesting local wares as well as street performance including the ever popular Cassettes, quirky Roundabout Theatre, and the Amazing Drumming Monkeys. And of course, it wouldn’t be Bello Winter Music without the Magic Bus, a guaranteed festival favourite each year.
This year will see the addition of a special Grower’s Market concert from 9am-midday on Saturday featuring special guest, Rebecca Ireland and more. There will be a new festival venue at the Bellingen Showground on Saturday and Sunday and the renowned 2bbbFM broadcast will be happening from Amelia Franklin’s cafe.
A reminder that volunteer applications are now open on the festival website and closing very soon. Becoming a festival volunteer is a fantastic was to become involved in the event in exchange for festival tickets. Let the countdown begin!
